Comet
8 GB VPS hosting · Comet
Comet is our 8 GB plan: 4 vCPU, 100 GB SSD, unmetered transfer. Our guides place photo and file clouds, deployment platforms and bigger game servers here.
Comet from $15.99/month · USD · availability varies by region
Overview
Four vCPU, 8 GB of memory, 100 GB of disk. Our guides pick Comet where a machine-learning container, a build pipeline or a game server needs real headroom. Several call it a floor, and say so.
The Immich guide recommends Comet: 8 GB for the machine-learning container, with the 100 GB disk as the real constraint. The Nextcloud guide agrees and says Flare will disappoint.
The Coolify guide recommends Comet for the control plane, a build, a Node app, a database and one more service.
The Counter-Strike 2 guide recommends Comet; its idle server used about 800 MB. The Rust guide puts Comet below the official floor. The ARK guide says 8 GB cannot reliably hold even an empty world.
Workflow
The heaviest container usually sets the plan.
Immich’s machine-learning container, a Coolify build or a game world usually decides memory. Read the guide for that component first.
The Nextcloud guide calls 100 GB generous for a working cloud and the wrong tool for hoarding terabytes. The Immich guide calls the disk its real constraint.

Statements from our own guides, not new benchmarks.
Comet is the floor for a small group and a young factory. Pulsar is the guide’s pick for a late-game factory or more than four players.
Comet for a small group on a default-size random world. Pulsar for eight or more players, mods or a larger map.
The guide recommends Pulsar. A small group can run on Comet with a scheduled daily restart, and should expect the occasional crash on a busy night.

Our Ollama and Open WebUI guide maps 7 to 8B models to Comet and expects a few tokens per second on CPU. It suits a private assistant, not frontier-model quality.
Our guide recommends it. A loaded map with nobody connected used about 800 MB and about 1% of one core. We could not test with players, so check htop in a full match.
For a working cloud or photo library, our guides say yes. For hoarding terabytes they point to a NAS. Check your data size first.
Our Rust guide recommends Pulsar and our ARK guide recommends Quasar. See the 16 GB and 32 GB pages for those.
Unmetered means no per-GB transfer charge. It does not mean unlimited throughput, and the acceptable use policy applies.
