Start on Orbit
Our n8n guide recommends Orbit (2 vCPU, 4 GB) for Docker, Postgres and n8n together. It points to Comet for heavy workflows, large files or queue mode.
Automation
Self-hosted n8n VPS hosting
Run n8n on a self-managed Linux VPS. Connect your services, keep your workflow data on your server and choose resources for the work you actually run.

Overview
A Linux VPS, Docker and the official n8n Compose guide. You run the application, its credentials and its updates. We provide the server, the network and the included tools.
A public webhook needs a stable HTTPS URL. Point a domain you control at the server, then set the webhook URL as the n8n guide describes.
Persist the n8n data directory and protect its encryption key. Back up PostgreSQL too if you use it. Test that credentials restore.
Memory follows payloads, binary files and overlapping runs. On a 2 GB Flare, n8n with Postgres idled at about 389 MiB, before any workflow ran.
Workflow
Bring your integrations. Build and test on a server you manage.
Our n8n guide recommends Orbit (2 vCPU, 4 GB) for Docker, Postgres and n8n together. It points to Comet for heavy workflows, large files or queue mode.
Install Docker on a supported Linux release. Follow the official n8n Compose guide for persistence, DNS and HTTPS. First start of n8n with Postgres took about 21 seconds in our 2 GB test.
Use representative payloads and concurrency. Check webhook delivery, failure handling and a restore before you rely on it.
The server is one part of the setup. Give webhooks a stable HTTPS address and plan recovery from day one.
Point a domain at the server. Configure HTTPS and the public webhook URL with the official deployment guide.
Keep n8n configuration and data on persistent storage. With PostgreSQL, back up the database and the encryption key.
Pin a tested version. Back up before updating. Watch failed executions, memory and disk. External API costs and software licences are separate.

Answers
No. It is a self-managed VPS. You install, secure and update n8n. We do not offer managed application support or one-click provisioning.
It depends on payloads, binary data and overlapping runs. Our guide recommends Orbit with 4 GB, and Comet with 8 GB for heavy workflows or queue mode. Measure, then resize.
Yes, for public webhooks over HTTPS. Set DNS, TLS and the public webhook URL before connecting services that call into n8n.
No. The price is for VPS hosting. Check n8n’s licence terms for your use. External services and API usage can carry their own charges.
They help, but also back up application state and the encryption key, with a consistent database backup if you use PostgreSQL. Test a restore before you need one.
Choose your server, then build with the official self-hosting guide.
