Use case
Public data,
collected cheaply.
Fetch open APIs and public pages through a rotating US datacenter IP, billed by the GB. A fit when the source allows automated access and price per GB is what matters.
$0.75/GB · US exits · new IP per connection · checked 6 Nov 2026
Example
Five top stories, five lines of Python.
This script ran against the live service on 6 November 2026. It reads a public JSON API and prints the result.
import os
import requests
PROXY = f"http://{os.environ['PB_PROXY_KEY']}:[email protected]:3128"
proxies = {"http": PROXY, "https": PROXY}
# Each requests.get() opens a new connection, so each call can leave from a new IP.
ids = requests.get("https://hacker-news.firebaseio.com/v0/topstories.json",
proxies=proxies, timeout=30).json()[:5]
for i in ids:
item = requests.get(f"https://hacker-news.firebaseio.com/v0/item/{i}.json",
proxies=proxies, timeout=30).json()
print(item["score"], item["title"][:60])What we saw
It works, and the address moves.
Our own checks of the same job.
Public APIs
Hacker News and GitHub public endpoints answered on every one of four runs, each from a different US datacenter address.
Rotation
Four runs through the datacenter tier gave four different IPs. Calls on one reused connection share an address; a new connection gets a new one.
Price
At $0.75/GB, 1 GB of traffic costs $0.75. Use the calculator for your request size.
Limits
Where to choose something else.
Be straight about the edges.
Strict sites
Some sites refuse datacenter ranges. In our test of 12 sites, Zillow and the New York Times blocked it.
Rules of the source
A proxy does not change a site’s terms or rate limits. Follow each source’s robots.txt, terms and published API limits.
US only
Exits are in the US during the beta. For other countries use a residential tier.
Answers
A few things worth knowing.
Does each request get a new IP?+
Each new connection does. Python’s requests.get() opens a new connection per call, so it rotates. A Session reuses one, so it keeps an address.
Can I scrape any site this way?+
No. Use it where the source permits automated access, and check its terms. Some sites also block datacenter ranges.
Start with a small balance.
Same balance and credentials as every other tier. Change the password to datacenter.
